In October 2009, The Sydney International Food Festival was held for one month in Sydney, Australia. The World Chefs Showcase took place from 9th to 11th as a part of this event. More than twenty celebrated chefs gathering from around the world for this event addressed their culinary philosophy and demonstrated their cutting edge skills. From Japan, the owner chef, Mr. Yoshihiro Murata of Kikunoi, Japan and Ms. Kumiko Ninomiya, the director of the Umami Information Center joined this event to transmit umami information globally.
